About Me

When I write for young readers, I aim to create a story that will be as meaningful to them as so many stories were to me growing up.

I love meeting young readers, and over the years I have presented at dozens of schools, libraries, bookstores and literary festivals.

I am also passionate about helping anyone who wants to develop their own writing. For over twenty years I have taught creative writing to college students, run creative writing workshops for kids and teens, and offered one-on-one story editing to adults, including fellow writers.

In the off-hours, I can be found doing a poor imitation of a dolphin in my local pool.

Kind Words

“Andrew is a strong and dynamic storyteller who managed to get even the most reluctant readers engaged! The kids loved the different voices as well as the animated way he told the story. At the end, they were excited to ask questions and also full of hugs.”

Agata Kaminski, Teacher Librarian, Kateri School, Kahnawake, Quebec

“Working with Andrew on my book was the most incredible experience. I was so overwhelmed with ideas and he was so good at helping me get what was in my head onto the page in a way that was fun and felt exciting. His thoughtfulness and care for the project was unparalleled and so comforting throughout the process. He really has such a gift for this work. Highly recommended if you have a story that is ready to come into the world that you do it alongside Andrew.”
